The 6-foot-1 senior from Chaminade-Julienne High School is the Division I girls player of the year on the Associated Press All-Southwest District team.
Williams, a three-time all-stater, averaged 18.8 points, 11.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 4.6 steals per game.
She shot 63.4 percent from the floor. She seldom played more than two quarters in C-J's 18-2 regular season.
The Eagles are 20-2 and play Cincinnati Sycamore in the Division I district finals Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Wilmington College.
Williams is a candidate for the following postseason awards: Ohio's Miss Basketball, the Naismith National Player of the Year, the Gatorade National Player of the Year, Parade Magazine All-American team and USA Today All-American team.
She is one of five players to be chosen as player of the year in their respective divisions.
* Troy's 6-6 Brooks Hall, considered the top junior in the state, is the Boys Division I player of the year.
* Dayton Christian point guard Chris Williams, a 5-10 senior, won the same honor in Division III.
* Jeff Reese, a 6-7 center who led Jackson Center to the No. 2- spot in the Dayton Daily News small school ratings, is the Division IV player of the year.
* Leah Donaldson, a 6-foot senior, who helped her team to two consecutive undefeated season is the girls Division IV player of the year along Mandy Holbrook of Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy.
Hall averaged 23.9 points, 10.4 points and 4.6 assists per game. He is being courted by most of the major schools in the country.
Williams averaged 12.6 points and 5.4 assists as DC's point guard. He averaged only two turnovers per game in running an offense which helped his team to a 19-1 record this year and the state Division III semifinals last year.
Reese averaged 15.5 points and 11.6 rebounds per game as his team went 19-1. The Tigers are blessed with good outside shooting, much of it set up his outstanding passing.
Donaldson averaged 17.7 points and 7.6 rebounds on an extremely talented club. Teammates Amy Martin and Stephanie Campbell are both on the Division IV girls first team, with Jenny Smith on the second team. Donaldson consistently came up with key points and rebounds when needed in big games.
Six of the eight district coaches of the year are from Miami Valley schools.
* First-year Colonel White coach Carlos Roberts got the honor in Division I boys. His team went 16-3 and won the City League with an 8-0 record after winning seven games last year.
* Springboro's Troy Holtrey is the Division II boys coach of the year after his team went 20-0 in the regular season.
* Tony Augspurger of Twin Valley South is the Division III boys honoree. His team went 17-3 after graduating his top seven players from last year.
* Bethel's Steve Fisher won the boys Division IV award. His team went 13-8 this year after going 2-19 last season.
* Trotwood-Madison's Vinson "Buff" Taylor is the Division I girls coach of the year. His team is 20-2 and won the first conference title in school history.
* Tim Barga won the same honor in girls Division III. The Tigers went 19-1 with only one starter in double figures.
* Tony Rogers of Botkins is the Division IV coach of the year. His team went 17-3 and tied Fort Loramie for the Shelby County League title.
