| Tony Capizzi served on the Dayton City Commission for 12 years, but lost his seat in the 1997 elections when he challenged incumbent Mayor Mike Turner and lost. An attorney, Capizzi first moved to Dayton from upstate New York to attend the University of Dayton Law School. He became involved in local government in the priority board system and was elected to the commission in 1985. During his time on the commission Capizzi was known for gun control legislation and his efforts to bring minor league baseball to Dayton. |  |
